Born in Kranj, the capital of the Slovenian Alps, Aleš Govekar lives with his family in the alpine countryside and has spent a lifetime deeply connected to nature. With over 25 years of experience in tourism and more than 12 years with Adventure Slovenia, he brings exceptional knowledge, calm leadership, and authenticity to every journey.
Aleš’s professional path spans outdoor sports instruction, tourism, and team-building event management. Today, his guiding focus is on delivering meaningful, locally rooted adventure experiences while preserving Slovenia’s natural heritage — from alpine flora and crystal-clear waters to wildlife and protected landscapes.
He is a licensed National Mountain Guide and National Tourist Guide, as well as a certified instructor in sport climbing, snowboarding, alpine skiing, and cross-country skiing. Known for his thoughtful, safety-focused approach, Aleš leads guests through Slovenia’s landscapes with respect, insight, and a genuine passion for sharing the country as locals know it.
