Boštjan Podbevšek has devoted his life to the art of fly fishing, beginning at the age of eight alongside his father. In 1983, he formally entered the profession by passing the national fishing exam and joining the Fishery Society of Slovenia, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to Slovenia’s rivers and waters.
Between 1990 and 2000, Boštjan expanded his expertise into whitewater sports, qualifying as a kayaking and rafting instructor and representing Slovenia as a member of the national rafting team. His competitive career culminated in a world championship title, achieved while competing internationally in Aosta, Italy (1994) and on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe (1995).
Since 2000, Boštjan has worked exclusively as a professional fly-fishing guide, developing an unparalleled knowledge of Slovenia’s diverse rivers and fisheries. His passion extends to fly tying, where he spent nine years as a participant in international fly-tying competitions, further refining his technical mastery and creative approach.
